Drive yourself Insane with the off-road riot on PC complete with CodemastersΓÇÖ new online multi-player service.
Codemasters turns the ignition key on its multi-player all-terrain 4x4 racing game in November as Insane - the game where dangerous driving is the safest bet - gets into gear on PC with gameplay elements designed especially for online and LAN play.
Insane is also the launch vehicle for CodemastersΓÇÖ new online multi-player service. Powered by proprietary software, Codemasters has designed an easy-to-use service especially for the mass-market PC gamer. Unlike game-specific servers, this multi-player online service is unique in that it has been designed in association with games development teams and is universal to all CodemastersΓÇÖ future Internet-ready games.
Insane puts players behind the wheel of a range of off-road vehicles including jeeps, trucks and even military vehicles all with realistic, individual handling. Featuring stunning simultaneous multi-player racing, players can kick up plenty of road dirt against human or computer generated competitors across terrain guaranteed to put even the toughest suspension to the test.
Unlike previous off-road titles, InsaneΓÇÖs locations are not only vast, but allow for total freedom in seven different game modes on varied terrain without boundaries and tracks. This style of racing provides the game with groundbreaking gameplay not seen before.
In the Jamboree game, itΓÇÖs a high-speed dash to race through a series of flagged gates placed randomly on the terrain. A marker constantly indicates the most direct route between the vehicle and the next gate, but beware the shortest route is not always the quickest - or safest.
Providing high-octane excitement in more familiar game modes, Insane delivers Off Road racing. However, with potholes, boulders, trees, the odd wildebeest straying across the course, the route to victory is fraught with danger and often the more daredevil driver will succeed over those who opt for strategy!
In addition, Insane also features wild spins on the Capture the Flag format with Catch the Flag and Return the Flag challenges and a destruction race to drive dirty in. A full championship series is also available pitching drivers against the full set of InsaneΓÇÖs challenges.
From the snow and ice of Yosemite to the arid dunes of the African desert, Insane features amazingly detailed and living 3D locations. DonΓÇÖt be surprised to see a herd of buffalo suddenly begin to stampede on hearing the roar of your beastΓÇÖs engine.
With full multi-player support via a LAN or over CodemastersΓÇÖ new multi-player online service, Insane will deliver riotous 4x4 racing when it is released PC-CD ROM in November.
